Aims and Objectives
- Recognise your own biases and the prevalence of these
- Recognise the universal nature of unconscious bias and the need to own this
- Identify key legislation and local policies/initiatives which shape the City’s commitment and approach to EDI
- Reflect on own knowledge of key indicators of inequality and discrimination within the UK
- Understand the psychological process of unconscious bias in the context of structural/systemic inequality
- Be equipped to communicate the links between bias and decision-making, behavioural action, impacts and outcomes for individuals
- Be competent at supporting teams to be aware of different forms of bias and define stereotyping and prejudice and what this means for individual practice.
- Have knowledge and skills to promote effective ways/tools to engage in conversations about bias
- Have knowledge and skills to lead actions to ameliorate bias and discrimination
