The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism aims to provide the health and care workforce with the right skills and knowledge to provide safe, compassionate, and informed care to autistic people and people with a learning disability.

It is a statutory requirement for providers of health and social care to ensure that their staff receive training in relation to learning disabilities and autism at a level appropriate for their role. The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disabilities and Autism has been developed to meet this need.

This requirement is included in the Health and Social Care Act 2022 and is mandatory for all staff working in CQC registered services.
